Essential Beauty Items for a Travel Bag
Planning a short weekend trip or flying to an exotic destination for a vacation? Sounds like a great idea, but have you packed everything you are going to need, beauty-wise? Packing light is a prudent decision, but there are some travel beauty essentials that must be a part of your travel bag.
Travel Items for Your Skin
Travelling is stressful for your skin. Long hours in a plane sap your skin of essential moisture and so it is imperative to keep your skin hydrated. When getting ready to leave, keep your makeup minimal so that you can moisturise your skin whenever needed without smudging your makeup. Pack travel size jars of your favourite daytime moisturiser (with an SPF of at least 20), night cream, and a hand and foot lotion to stay supple all over.
Travel Items for Your Face
Holidays are meant for you to let your hair down, so we recommend going easy on the makeup and sticking to the basics. A concealer for blemishes, a compact to smoothen out your complexion, some waterproof mascara, an eye pencil, and a nude lip-gloss or lip balm should have you covered. However, a good cleanser or mild face wash, toner, eye cream and sunscreen are absolute must-haves to keep you looking fresh and dewy as you take in the sights and sounds of the new destination.
Travel Items for Your Hair
For most women, travel wreaks havoc on the hair. All that dryness makes your hair rough and unruly so we recommend packing an anti-frizz serum or leave-in conditioner that’ll keep your hair sleek and shiny in-flight and off it. Of course, you should pack a comb or brush and travel size bottles of your favourite shampoo and conditioner. If you need to style your hair while on vacation, you could carry along a small hair curler or straightener. Your hotel room will have a hair dryer, so no need to carry one.
Miscellaneous Travel Items
Hand wipes, facial tissues, feminine hygiene products, razor, cotton balls and buds, face cloths, a light stole to keep you warm, travel size perfume and deodorant, an eye mask (to soothe and brighten) and/or eye compress, acne ointment, dry shampoo and sunglasses are some other travel accessories that you’d do well to take with you.
Always make sure that your travel beauty items (especially gels and liquids) meet the flight restrictions, or you may just have to let go of that designer perfume at the airport!
With these beauty must-haves safely tucked away in your luggage, you’ll travel in style and comfort and also look radiant and refreshed. Remember to drink plenty of water, have fun and take lots of pictures!
